Where do men stand in regards to feminism? Do they participate in demanding women's equal rights? or do they oppose to them? What becomes of those who do participate, and those who don't?
These questions, among others, will help determine the place of men in the midst of women's fight for equality. Through this study, we hope to liberate men of some of the prejudice-based accusations, as well as point out how important their role has been so far in determining the course of action of feminists.
By focusing on the evolution of their role from the 17th century until today, it has been made evident that a huge part of the feminist movement depends on where men stand. And a lot of people still don't know that. Men are an important factor in the development of feminism. They can either help to expand or stigmatize the whole process. Where we are today as feminists isn't only determined by our own actions, but also by the actions of men.
Men are accused of "anti-feminism", women are accused of "extremism": this is an article that shows that both of those accusations have no historical validity. In fact, history brought forth some shocking revelations: Men were the feminists, women were unaware of their inferior state.

We have the curiosity and drive to research in all things feminism related, being well aware of the position of women today. Our particular interest in the role and perception that men hold regarding feminism and the women's rights' movement began when our first-hand experience with the subject left us with questions.
